The Tabor Shift Millwright will be an exceptional troubleshooter and always learn and embrace new concepts. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated, self-starter.

  • Education Required: Valid Inter-Provincial Journeyperson Red Seal certification.

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license.

  • Able to work on shifts, including nights or weekends.

  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.

  • Must be dependable, efficient, professional and have a positive attitude.


  • Troubleshoot hydraulics

  • Weld and fabricate as needed

  • Install and set clearances on high speed bearings

  • Change chipping knives daily

  • Perform running P.M. checks on various machines centres

  • Chase whistles in a fast paced environment

Come work on one of the largest cattle ranches in British Columbia. Bar K Ranch cattle enjoy pastured life on our 8,000 acre ranch in the Lakes District, just 15 minutes north of Prince George. Bar K Ranch was the first BC beef operation registered with the Verified Beef Production program and has recently received its AgSafe OHS Certificate of Recognition (COR).


The ideal candidate will have experience working with fences of all types (barbed wire, electric, wood). They will have some heavy duty equipment training and knowledge of best practices around farm animals. The ideal candidate will be an all-around ‘handyman’ and will be detail-oriented, organized and respectful. Experience with plumbing and/or electrical is considered an asset.


  • Assess and repair large tracts of fencing (barbed wire and electric)

  • Read GPS maps and locate fence repair needs

  • Use a chainsaw to clear paths along fences (chainsaw certificate an asset)

  • Basic carpentry skills for fixing corrals, paddocks, and infrastructure

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical for maintenance fixes around ranch houses and structures

  • Machine operating experience an asset for alternate jobs, as needed

This is a full time seasonal, or full time year-round position for the right candidate. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical/dental and RRSP contributions. Housing may be available as well for the right candidate.

Carrier is seeking an experienced contractor who has the ability to log and process timber to specification, and deliver it to the sawmill in Big River, Saskatchewan.

The Quality Control Technician will be a detail oriented individual with a proactive attitude. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated self-starter who is comfortable working alone. They will need to seek solutions, take initiative and respond to change. The individual should be willing to look at and handle real/practical problems, as well as computer programs and simulations. This is a physical job, working in mill, office, and outdoor environments.

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Skilled with relevant Microsoft Suite programs (Excel, Word, Access)

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a mill (or similar) setting

  • Technically capable with some mechanical, electrical, or process experience

  • ‘A’-level lumber grading ticket



  • Daily product quality assessments, by-product testing, accuracy and execution tests, lumber grading, and log quality checks

  • Regular presence on the production shift looking for process opportunities

  • Frequent data analysis and recommendations, including simulations and tests for improving the product, yield or value created

  • Weekend inventory counts

  • Infrequent travel involved to our sister mill in Saskatchewan

The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, possess good communications skills, and must be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Based out of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and under the direct supervision of the Woodlands Superintendent, the Woodlands Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the harvesting and field operations for operations in Saskatchewan.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent organization, computer, communication and team skills.  The candidate must have proven skills related to all facets of forestry operations and field work.  Field experience is a definite asset. 


  • A minimum of 3 years related experience
  • Ability to qualify for a Registered Professional Forester / Registered Professional Forestry Technician designation is required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in current technology
  • Knowledgeable in current forest legislation

Salary is commensurate with experience and includes RRSP contributions, comprehensive dental/health coverage as well as the potential for bonuses.
