THE DUTIES

Under the direct supervision of the Woodlands Manager, the Woodlands Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing Carrier Forest Products’ forest operations associated with its allocation in the Sakaw Askiy FMA, Northwest Community TSL and any other third party volume purchased by the company.  This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Being accountable for contractor safety, performance, and environmental leadership in the operations.
    • Develop strategies and provide leadership and direction to improve safety, reduce operational costs, enhance log value and maximize margins while meeting mill requirements.
    • Plan and execute annual road, harvest and post-harvest programs.
    • Participate in various contract negotiations 
    • Professional interaction with Government personnel and industry partners.

 THE QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent organization, computer, communication, and team skills.  The candidate must have proven skills related to all facets of current forest operations, silviculture practises, forestry planning, permit acquisition and forest policy.  Prior experience in management is a definite asset.  This position is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

  • A minimum of 10 years related experience
  • Eligibility as a Registered Professional Forester / Registered Professional Forestry Technician designation is required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in current technology
  • Knowledgeable in current forest legislation

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Under the direct supervision of the Woodlands Superintendent, the Stewardship Forester is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the existing SFI Certification system, the execution of all the silviculture requirements, and will participate in the long term harvest planning and permit acquisition for all of Carrier Forest Products Ltd. operations in Saskatchewan.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent organization, computer, communication and team skills.  The candidate must have proven skills related to all facets of Certification, current Silviculture practises, forestry planning, permit acquisition and forest policy.  Experience in GIS is a definite asset.  This position is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

We are searching for a summer student for a 4 or 8 month term with the possibility of continuing full-time employment. Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will be based out of our Prince George corporate office.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The Accounting Student acts as a member of the dynamic Accounting team.  As an effective, solution-oriented team member, the successful candidate works cooperatively and sustains effective communications with co-workers, customers, contractors, suppliers, and representatives from government and outside agencies.

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Strong work ethic and superb organizational skills
  • Self-motivated team player with ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Strong computer skills and aptitude for technology
  • Enrolled in an accounting-related post-secondary program
  • Prior experience considered an asset
  • Must be available to start work in either January 2017 or May 2017 (please specify on resume)

THE DUTIES:

  • Backup duties for the existing Accounting Assistant include: inventory reporting; production reporting; revenue and accounts receivable reporting; lumber by-product reporting; accounts payable reviewing; PST and GST reporting; and government reporting.
  • Backup duties for the Accounts Payable Clerk include: banking and reception relief.
  • Other Accounting filing and processing tasks as required.

Carrier Fabricating is currently accepting applications for a Journeyman Fabricator for our Prince George Fabrication Shop.

The candidate must be: reliable, punctual, highly motivated, and proficient at troubleshooting. S/he will be highly skilled with fabrication techniques involved in the fabrication and manufacture of custom machinery and projects. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment. The candidate will excel at reading and understanding fabrication drawings and CAD drawings.
