THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The Measurement Technician will be a detail oriented individual with a proactive attitude. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated self-starter who is comfortable working alone. They will need to seek solutions, take initiative and respond to change. The individual should be willing to look at and handle real/practical problems, as well as computer programs and simulations. This is a physical job, working in mill, office, and outdoor environments.

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Skilled with relevant Microsoft Suite programs (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a mill (or similar) setting
  • Technically capable with some mechanical, electrical, or process experience
  • Lumber grading ticket

THE DUTIES:

  • Daily product quality assessments, primarily in the sawmill
  • Regular presence on the production shift looking for process opportunities
  • Frequent data analysis and recommendations, including simulations and tests for improving the product, yield or value created
  • Weekend inventory counts on a rotating schedule
  • Infrequent travel involved to our sister mill in Saskatchewan

The Tabor Shift Millwright will be an exceptional troubleshooter and always learn and embrace new concepts. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated, self-starter.

  • Education Required: Valid Inter-Provincial Journeyperson Red Seal certification. 3rd or 4th year apprentices will be considered.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license.
  • Able to do shift work. 12hr shifts. (2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off. Every second weekend off 3 days).
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Must be dependable, efficient, professional and have a positive attitude.

THE DUTIES:

  • Troubleshoot hydraulics
  • Weld and fabricate as needed
  • Install and set clearances on high speed bearings
  • Change chipping knives daily
  • Perform running P.M. checks on various machines centres
  • Chase whistles in a fast paced environment

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Administrative Assistant will handle all manner of tasks for Carrier Forest Products. Given Carrier’s organizational size, this multipurpose position provides support to all departments (HR, accounting, sales and administration), providing an array of tasks and duties past just ‘reception.’ Directly reporting to the both the Sawmill and Planer Managers, you will also be the first point of contact for the company and will handle the flow of people through the business.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Outgoing disposition and a courteous manner
  • Aptitude for numbers and data
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and oscillate between tasks rapidly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Exceptional organization and record keeping abilities

An administrative certificate or diploma is a considerable asset.

THE DUTIES:

  • Handle daily banking’s mail register (bill payments, deposits, etc.)
  • Assist Accounting by creating Production Reports
  • Receive, direct and relay telephone messages and fax messages
  • Open and date stamp all general correspondence
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of meetings, conferences and conference calls
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of office supplies
  • Relief shipper
  • Other duties as assigned

Bar K Ranch was the first BC beef operation registered with the Verified Beef Production program and has recently received its AgSafe OHS Certificate of Recognition (COR).

We are looking for a seasonal summer students to fill our Ranch Hand positions.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Taking pride in your work, problem solving abilities and a proactive attitude are the strengths needed.
  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for the ranching industry and respect for all animals while working in a low-stress environment.
  • Experience with farming, operating equipment and/or fencing is an asset.

THE DUTIES:

  • Assist with basic yard maintenance and clean up

  • Helping with farming (machine operating experience an asset)
  • Adhering to strict health, safety and environmental protocols

The Mobile Equipment Shop, a department of Carrier Manufacturing, is currently looking for a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

We are currently accepting applications for a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic for our Prince George shop. Other qualifications include:

  • Red Seal Certification
  • Shop experience

  • Excellent time management and organization

The individual should be willing to look at and handle real/practical problems, as well as CAD drawings and specialized equipment, such as our plasma cutting table.

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Mechanical Engineering Technologist
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Steel Estimating
  • Technically capable and safety driven
  • Occupational First Aid is a bonus

  • Cost estimating for Fabrication Projects
  • Interpreting blueprints, engineer drawings and experience with Auto CAD

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have experience working with fences of all types (barbed wire, electric, wood). They will have some heavy duty equipment training and knowledge of best practices around farm animals. The ideal candidate will be an all-around ‘handyman’ and will be detail-oriented, organized and respectful. Experience with plumbing and/or electrical is considered an asset.

THE DUTIES:

  • Assess and repair large tracts of fencing (barbed wire and electric)

  • Read GPS maps and locate fence repair needs

  • Use a chainsaw to clear paths along fences (chainsaw certificate an asset)

  • Basic carpentry skills for fixing corrals, paddocks, and infrastructure

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical for maintenance fixes around ranch houses and structures

  • Machine operating experience an asset for alternate jobs, as needed

This is a full time seasonal, or full time year-round position for the right candidate. Hourly wage determined by experience. Benefits and housing may be available as well for the right candidate.

THE DUTIES:

The type of work will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Tractor operation,
  • Field work such as: Spraying, Seed Bed Prep
  • Harvesting Silage and Hay Crop,
  • Fencing as needed.
  • Feeding cattle during winter months.

This is a fulltime permanent position. Hourly wage determined by experience. Housing and Benefits are available as well for the right candidate.
