Based out of our Prince George office and under the direct supervision of the Woodlands Manager, the Woodlands Planning Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the long term harvest planning and permit acquisition for Carrier’s forest operations associated with its Replaceable Tenure volume in the Prince George and Robson Timber Supply Areas.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Minimum 5 years related experience.
  • Eligibility as a Registered Professional Forester / Registered Professional Forestry Technician.
  • Strong work ethic and love of the outdoors.
  • Basic understanding of safety rules and regulations.
  • Self-motivated team player with ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Strong computer skills and aptitude for forestry-based technologies.

THE DUTIES:

  • Assist with contractor safety, performance, and environmental leadership.
  • Implement strategies and provide leadership and direction to improve safety, reduce operational costs and demonstrate excellence in forest planning.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to implement the harvest planning and permitting programs.
  • Participate in various contract negotiations.
  • Professional interaction with Government personnel, First Nations and industry partners.
  • Other duties related to operations in harvesting and planning may be assigned.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The Tabor Shift Electrician will be an exceptional troubleshooter and always learn and embrace new concepts. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated, self-starter.

  • Education Required: Valid Inter-Provincial Journeyperson Red Seal electrical certification.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license.
  • Knowledge or experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and various control systems would be an asset.
  • Computer/PLC/VFD and networking would be an asset.
  • Shift work, full time.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Must be dependable, efficient, professional and have a positive attitude.

THE DUTIES:

  • Communicate with other departments about any production issues.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all electrical systems such as but not limited to Motors, VFDs, PLCs, faulty wiring, controls and other optimization related scanning in a timely fashion.
  • Use and troubleshoot Controls systems via computers, AB software and basic networking.
  • Read blue prints, schematics and plans.
  • Adapt to changing technologies, priorities and working conditions.
  • Follow and understand the Canadian Electrical Code.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

We are currently accepting applications for a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic for our Prince George shop. We will also consider the right 3rd or 4th year apprentices.

Other qualifications include:

  • Red Seal Certification
  • Shop experience
  • Highly motivated with good communications skills

  • CAT Experience- familiarity with SIS and ET considered an asset

Wage is $45.00 an hour, determined by education and experience. Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hrs/week with opportunity for overtime.

  • Sweeping and shoveling, walking on even and uneven surfaces, pushing a wheelbarrow and using a power saw.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who exhibit attention to detail, a safety-conscious attitude, and impeccable attendance. 

Wages are $32.07 an hour as per the collective agreement.

  • Be willing and able to run various production jobs as assigned.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who exhibit attention to detail, a safety-conscious attitude, and impeccable attendance.
